The sessions
Who are the sessions for?
First-time parents from 32 weeks, and their birth partner. Six couples at most.
What do the two sessions cover?
Ready for Birth covers signs of labour, labour progression, birth biomechanics, birth interventions and pain relief options.
Ready for Feeding covers newborn feeding, getting started with breastfeeding, colostrum and expressing, formula feeding safely, and combination feeding.
Do we need to book both?
No. Each session is complete in itself, so you can book one or both.
Is this instead of my NHS care?
No. Both sessions are education and preparation alongside your NHS antenatal care, not a replacement for it.
Can my birth partner come?
Yes, please bring them. The price covers you both, and both sessions are designed for partners too.
Who teaches them?
Emily, a practising NHS midwife, independent prescriber and birth biomechanics practitioner. More about Emily.

When should we book?
